Beginnings review
This is
their first two studio albums, The Allman Brothers Band
(1969), and Idlewood South (1970), released on one CD, a
great value. Some
highlights are the jam oriented "Whipping Post" and
"In Memory of Elizabeth Reed," and the song oriented
"Dreams," "Revival," and "Midnight
Rider." There is a multitude of great lesser known songs
most notably “Every Hungry Woman.”
The
Allman Brothers Beginnings has great music and an outstanding
value.
